Christmas Caroling

Please join us for some fun, festive, Christmas Caroling at the Good Samaritan Ambassador Nursing home. Emoji

It's this Saturday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m.

If you didn't signup at the meeting and plan to join us, please reply to this email. If you're not sure or won't know until the last minute, that's ok - just come! Emoji

Song sheets will be available and you do NOT need to be a good singer. Emoji Children of any age are welcome and encouraged to come.

We'll meet inside by the front entrance at 10:30 and we'll plan to sing until 11:45. Emoji The address is 8100 Medicine Lake Road (just west of Winnetka).

Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to bring joy to others during this holiday season and joy to ourselves as well! Wear a Santa hat or reindeer ears if you have them. Emoji I'm bringing homemade Xmas cookies from our WT cookie exchange for a snack after caroling. Emoji

Ronald McDonald House

The holidays are surely a time for giving as is the New Year. Please consider helping provide meals at Ronald McDonald House on Saturday, January 10th from 4:30-7:30. The Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit organization that provides a home away from home to keep families together during a child’s health crisis, when family matters most. Meals are provided for the families thanks to volunteers like
us!

We need approximately 7 people to work at the RMH which includes setting up, serving and cleanup. We're going to serve lasagna, macaroni & cheese, 4 salads, 2 garlic bread and 4 desserts (cookies/bars/cakes). I will be making a motion to buy the lasagna from Costco and hopefully the rest will be provided by our members. If you cannot attend, you can still provide food or beverages that someone else can bring or a donation. We need to plan for 80-90 people, but I will get a better count before I pick-up the lasagna. I will have a sign-up at the December meeting, but if you cannot attend the meeting and want to help, please email me. Let me know if you can help at the event, if you can contribute, or both.

Sign-up:
1. Mac and Cheese - in a crockpot
2. Lettuce Salad
3. Jell-o Salad (if anyone wants to do finger jell-o that's been a big hit in the past)
4. Other Salad
5. Other Salad
6. Garlic Bread (2 people)
7. Dessert (4 people)
8. Milk (gallon of white and chocolate) - 2 people

You can also sign up for an item and just donate money, which I can use to buy items at Costco (i.e. milk, salad, dessert, bread).

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Isaac's Journey - Winter State

A tribute to children who have suffered from cancer, is again happening at Winter State with the Luminary Walk. For a suggested donation of $5, you can decorate a bag with the name and age of the child. Let me know if you would like a white bag for this purpose. We are hoping that there are at least 2 bags from
our chapter. I will collect both the bags and monetary donation.

The value of the card should be visible and can be written on the card. A few ideas are gas cards, grocery store cards, Target, Walmart, and Sally's beauty supply store. If we collect over $200 in gift cards at the December Meeting, there may be an appearance from the bra and
underwear ladies to sing a special thank you song.

Trust Vets

Trust Vets is a valuable resource. They are expanding TRUST VETS and need help getting the word out.
They've built a page on the Indiegogo site and need to get as many people on that link as possible to introduce themselves. Would you be willing to help us drive business to Veterans by sharing the link?

A lot of people want better for Veterans; this is a simple way to make good on those intentions.

2014 Shopping Spree

Our Annual Shopping Spree will be held on December 6th. Please contact Judy S if you would like to volunteer your time.

What is our Shopping Spree?

Each year in we take children from families in need shopping. This is no everyday shopping trip. These children are not buying for themselves, but for their family. With the help of volunteers, the children pick out gifts for their family. They wrap the gifts and as a reward for giving to others, the children get to visit Santa. Santa has a small gift for each child. It is a humbling experience to witness children picking out gifts of sock and underwear or mittens, scarf’s and hats, instead of video games and toys.
