Make a “Colorful” Difference Day
Make a Difference Day was Saturday, October 26th. That also happened to be the day of the Cooper Craft Fair. New Hope Women of Today members, family, and friends came together in a big way to make a difference in our community. Over the course of this event we totaled over 400 service hours and raised thousands of dollars for scholarships and local service opportunities.
Highlights of our Craft Fair include the students of Robbinsdale Cooper High School who volunteer their time to not only help set up the day before and clean up after, but also support our many vendors by helping them bring there items and set up into the building and then back to their cars. We had members arrive at 5:30 am who stayed until everything was done after 4:00 pm. Friends from the Maple Grove WT joined in to volunteer. Over 200 guests registered at our Go Green table that they brought their own bag(s) and we collected over 11 pounds of organics to be sent for compost that would typically be placed into the trash.
It's with the support of the community and our vendors that come back year after year that makes the Cooper Craft Fair a wonderful experience and gives us the opportunity to support our community in ways that truly make a difference not only one day a year but every day of the year.
