Journaling

By Deb Campion

Last Monday's meeting we briefly talked about keeping a journal. It helps with mental health issues. anger, etc...

Here are a few tips for our group to start this exercise...

• It is easier to start on a weekend. Buy a nice journal to write in and have a good pen.

• Set aside 15 minutes in the morning to write in your book. Just start writing. How are you feeling? Are you angry, sad, happy or excited about you day. Did you have any dreams? etc.

• Be patient and kind to yourself.

• Keep your journal in a safe place...It's for your eyes only so you can express anything going on in your head.

I read this exercise years ago, in a book named "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. I urge everyone to try this.
