Four members, three NHWT guests, and two community members came together to pull the buckthorn trees at Hagemeister Pond in Crystal. The event started with a tour of the pond learning about the different native plants and how they support the local wildlife. There was a short training on identifying and pulling the buckthorn followed by fun and hard work by all.
For more information on upcoming restoration events contact the city of Crystal Parks and Rec. The New Hope Chapter will be back next year to sponsor a day or two.
