Fall is quickly approaching, which means the Cooper Craft Fair (CCF) is just around the corner! It’s always the last Saturday of October. This year it’s on the 26th.
For those of you who’ve never heard of or been to the CCF, it’s a large
arts & crafts fair made up of 140-160 crafters who sell only handmade goods.
40% of the proceeds go to the Lavon H Cooper scholarship fund, usually equaling $4,500-$5,500, that’s dispersed to about 8-10 graduates of a District 281
high school. The CCF is at Cooper High School and is going on its 47th year!
We require about 24 volunteers to help set up on Friday night and 30 during the event. Please
sign up for a shift, if you haven’t already, via the SignUpGenius.
Also, I’ll be looking for someone to shadow me to take over my position on the CCF Committee. My
role in the committee is scholarship oversight and volunteer recruitment. Please let me know if you’re
interesting in being a part of the committee. It would involve shadowing me at our follow-up meetings
after this year’s fair, learning the tasks involved in my position, and shadowing me at next year’s fair.
Thanks, Merrin B
